What Are Place Values?
Every digit in a number has its own special place!
Place value tells us how much each digit is worth based on its position in the number.
Whether a digit is in the ones, tens, hundreds, or thousands place changes its value.
Understanding place values helps us read, write, and work with big numbers easily!
How Place Values Work
1️⃣ Each position in a number is 10 times greater than the position to its right
2️⃣ The rightmost digit is always the ones place
3️⃣ Moving left, we have tens, hundreds, thousands, and so on
